Occupied with Facebook

I guess the updates aren't coming that often, it's because I'm currently occupied with Facebook. I know that I've hopped onto the bandwagon at a rather late time. Some of you may even be saying "Facebook is soooooooo yesterday".

I think that I pick up technology rather slowly and after playing around with Facebook during those slow moving weekdays, I sort of got it figured out.

And I managed to get in touch with some friends that had disappeared. Guess that's an incentive for me.

By the time this post is up, Jingjing should be having a blast in Germany for her study trip. And hearing her say about going to certain places during her weekends sure makes me want to go for one next year. But then the amount of money sure put me off.

Had OG lunch with Jingjing before her departure to Germany, which consist of the usual bunch. Initially the plan was to have lunch at Ichiban Boshi at Wisma Atria only to discovered that it's closed for renovation.

The funny thing? Joyce and I had walked past it on the day before on two difference occasions while shopping for Jingjing's gift. Two blind mice, two blind mice, see how they run, see how they run...

So we finally ended up lunching at Sushi Tei. On foresight, I shouldn't had ordered the unagi-don which has an overkill of unagis. As much as I like unagis, that is perhaps too much for me =) Lesson: too much of a good thing isn't really that good.

Random Thoughts

You know sometimes people say that they look for a certain qualities in their ideal partners, like domesticated, have same hobbies, doesn't have bad habits that they cannot tolerate or a personality that suits them.

Honestly, when people starts talking about these qualities, I feel that they are thinking that those are 'good to have' rather than 'must have'.

Let's take a look at the following situation:

Mr A looks for girls that is gentle, has long hair, sporty and have a bubbly personality. But what happens if that the girl fits the above qualities but
look like this? I doubt that Mr A will be attracted to her in the first place.

I can continue to give examples of Mr B and Mr C, but I doubt that anyone will like to have their dinners puked onto their keyboards.

Personally, I think that it is 'lust at first sight' as humans are after all animals too. Looks always come first, the rest will then come later. Ever have the following scenario where you have your eyes transfixed on a certain person (other than the lecturer, you muggers!) and somehow or another they will suddenly fit into your ideal partner qualities checklist?

For those that are curious, I'm not writing this down because I got rejected or something. I'm actually giving some insight into how I think and why sometimes act in a certain manner.

Some links that I find interesting while rotting at home for the past few days:

5 Psychological Experiments That Prove Humanity is Doomed

"Psychologists know you have to be careful when you go poking around the human mind because you're never sure what you'll find there. A number of psychological experiments over the years have yielded terrifying conclusions about the subjects.

Oh, we're not talking about the occasional psychopath who turns up. No, we're talking about you. The experiments speak for themselves: "

Keyboards 'dirtier than a toilet'

"Some computer keyboards harbour more harmful bacteria than a toilet seat, research has suggested."

So what I've been up to these days. I'm actually stuck on my arse playing computer games that I'm so deprived of during the school sem (yeah, I'm such a nerd). I'm currently stuck onto this game that I had chanced upon when I like secondary 1 and once more during my army days - X-COM: UFO Defense. Graphically speaking, this game isn't are shiny when realistic ragdoll physics that is normal for games these days. Nope, this game is F-U-N if you look through the rather aged graphics.

Must see movie for the month? Definitely IRON MAN!

This movie exceeded my expectations. The character development is good, Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark, it's like the role is made for him and he wasn't really acting. And the script is written in a way that it doesn't alienate those that don't read comic books and at the same time don't ignore those who reads them.

Do remember to stay on after the credits, those who reads the Ultimate line of marvel books will surely be grinning like a Cheshire Cat. =D Samuel L. Jackson appears as Nick Fury =D

Punk'd!

Those who study any mathematics related subjects should know that there are tons of formulae to use. And for some examinations, you will have these formulae given to you.

For the physics examination, the prof actually mentioned that formulae will be given so many forumlae were not memorised. So naturally everyone will take a look at the formulae list given for the past year exam papers and note down which isn't given.

Now the funny thing here is that for this year's examination, many of the needed formulae isn't given, and those that are given were not used for the examination.

Damn you Chen Lang!!!

It's Finally OVER!

Yay! Been looking forward to this day ever since the first day of the exams. I hope that the sudden change from mugging for exams to lobo'ing at home for the next few days/weeks won't have that great an effect on my life.

Updates to be followed soon. Stay tuned!

Cold Turkey

I guess somebody have the idea that turning the air conditioning on will create a conducive environment to do an exam paper.

Not if its feels like under 23 degrees. And its much worse than the freezing CAC Room during the wrapping of Valentine's roses.

Requesting the invigilator to turn down the air conditioning yields a reply of:
"Maybe next time you should bring scarves and gloves." - very funny...

Maybe I borrow the jacket wore by my cousin when he went Harbin when there's any more papers at the SRC.

ilovemaths

It's two days before the maths and I got to admit that studying for maths for a week has definitely burnt me out. Lazing around the house for a day and half certainly had made me guilty. At least I'm all the more ready to push all the way until the start of the paper.

Let's hope that there isn't a reenactment of last semester's maths paper, I can't afford a half an hour headstart for everyone else.
