The Waiting Game

Camp sure is fun, while the GLs are playing the actual games and getting all messy and smelly, the programmers are playing a totally different game - the waiting game.

Sure, of course everything have to be ready before the participants are on location and some waiting are inevitable, but waiting for hours and alone? NOT COOL.

At least I am lucky. I got a tutorial room with the air conditioning working, but in exchange for that I'm pretty much separated from the rest of the group (those in the know will understand). I heard Alex pretty got crazy by waiting in some stuffy tutorial room. But I still think that my luck could even be much better.

I got a bad feeling that the actual camp will even be worse.

Know what's a love-hate relationship? I love using the dove shower foam due to its moisturising property, but it makes me smell like a girl. Why didn't they create something that smells more 'neutral'?

15/03 Class Gathering

Time for another class gathering! And this time, it's a CLASS gathering, not a St. Nicks and Cath High gathering. Do a simple headcount, there's 13 people that came for a class gathering, which is so much more than the previous few gathering. And what's the occasion you may say? Well it's Zhi Xiang's birthday! Happy 22nd! (BTW he didn't came HAHA)

Dinner's at NYDC because Kah Hui thinks that it's pretty affordable due to poor students and graduates unable to land any jobs.

Every knows that digital cameras are the norm these days.

I guess the trend is moving towards taking photos of...

... other people taking photos

Note in point, get someone whose hands doesn't shake that when taking photos!
Look, you ruined the shot of Tien Soon's handsome face.

Kian Huat showed his (moleless) face when he escaped from work for a quick dinner. Poor Kian Huat, he have to work til like 12am almost everyday, but at least he is earning overtime pay on top of his basic pay. *WE DEMAND A TREAT*

Photography trick in action: Always move your head into the background so that your face becomes smaller.

Notice why Janice is smiling so happily over here? It's because her face is the smallest.

Victoria shielding herself from Kelvin 'paparazzi' Chew.

There's one thing I found amusing about Cath High people. They always like to refer their names with surnames attached. It's never 'Kelvin' but always 'Kelvin Chew'. Same goes to 'Cai Wenchuan' and 'Kuan Tien Soon'. I mean there maybe a lot of Kelvins in Cath High, but I doubt that there will be more than one Wenchuan or Tien Soon.

We settled on MacDonald's instead of Ben&Jerry's for ice cream because of money issues.

Guess who's happier with the decision? Don't worry Tien Soon, you will have your chance to treat us Ben&Jerry's very soon.

I wonder what is Kelvin's intention while taking this photo? And this shot actually came after Yvonne mentioned that she read something on 'how to seduce while eating ice cream'. Hmmm...

There's one more picture that's really too racy for this 'family friendly' blog. And guess who took it?

Wonder what are they looking at. Maybe they can't stand Tien Soon's sensual licking of his sundae saw sometime interesting up there.

After looking through the photos, I realised something very wrong. WHY I AM HARDLY FEATURED IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS?! I need to master the act of camwhoring or else people can't see my face in MY blog.

Danny Jogs

Not me!

I'm not known to be the sporty kind, but I'm trying to lose some fats accumulated over the past few years. It's like donkey years since I put on my pair of 'too clean to be true' Army New Balance shoes to take a jog around the neighbourhood.

I don't know whether it's healthy or not but I noticed that I can run much further and faster after drinking coffee. Must be the caffeine.

I'm putting this here so that I can track my progress: I strive to jog on a regular basis of 5 times a week and consisting of at least 45 mins of pure jogging. My current weight is 67kg and I hope that in a month's time I can cut it down to 65kg. Yeah, I know that I don't look like I'm 67kg because most of the fats are hidden by my selection of clothes!

Here's to a fitter Danny =D

"You look good... With a cap!"

Wore a cap to school cause my hair is long and long overdue for a trim.

Someone then mentioned that I look good with a cap on.

Seriously, I don't know whether should I be happy or not, 'cos it's not like everyday that some one said that I look 'good'.

Then again, you can hardly see any of the face when the cap is on! Wonder why Zhou Jie Lun always have a cap on during his early music videos?

You're gonna be the one that saves me?

Oasis - Wonderwall (Acoustic)

(Don't mind the pic)

Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now

And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

Today was gonna be the day?
But they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do
About you now

And all the roads that lead to you were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
I don't know how

I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

I said maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after an
You're my wonderwall

Said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

BTW the above version is by Noel Gallagher instead of Liam Gallagher (they're brothers for those younglets out there), who sounds better for the unplugged version. Look up the song on youtube, if you want to hear the original version by Liam.

So who's gonna be the one that saves me?

Quote of the day

"I was like: 'I need to be a rock star'."

- Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, when talking about his lack of luck with women in his early years.

He managed to snagged Gwyneth Paltrow (who plays Pepper Potts in Iron Man) who's really pretty. And you noticed how rock stars get all the chicks?

I need to be a rock star too!

The Marvel Fomula?

The second Marvel summmer blockbuster will be on the screens soon. The Incredible Hulk stars Edward Norton as the titular character.

Many couldn't avoid comparing the movie to the successful Iron Man movie that was out earlier this year. I can't either. And I noticed something similar to both movies.

Anyone who watched the Iron Man will know that the main villain, Iron Monger (okay, the name wasn't mentioned in the movie) aka Obadiah Stane, got the designs for his armour from the initial Iron Man designs and turned it into something bigger and badder.

Now in the Incredible Hulk, the baddie is the Abomination, who is, suprise suprise, a bigger and badder version of the Hulk.

So how do the Abomination came about? Not suprisingly, he did the same thing that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk. Seeing a formula here?

Anyway I feel that we should just skip the Incredible Hulk and save the money for the Dark Knight (the next Batman film) 'cos ticket prices aren't getting cheaper.

Lightning flashed across the sky, followed by the roar of thunder. Clouds resembling a black tablecloth engulfed the azure of the sky, parting the sky into sabre and azure.

A storm is fast approaching.

Daniel put on his coat and armed himself with an umbrella. He wondered whether the size of his umbrella will be sufficient, then he realised that it will barely keep anyone dry judging the size of the impending rain. The first few drops of rain begin to fall with his first step into the road.

"This is not going to be easy."

Show Me the Money

My job is NOT fun. It makes me realise that most temp jobs involve mindless repetitions. Maybe its me, but I feel that talking about income tax is more fun than making calls to check whether the listed telephone number is correct.

Anyway noted some company names that are especially funny. There's this Triple H Construction Company. Maybe instead of those bangla workers, their workers all look like this:

(He's a wrestler that goes by the name of Triple H)

Work will be done at half the time, but it will cost more because of the steroids needed.

Another thing is that some companies actually hire Filipinos to man their phone lines and they address their owners as either 'Sir' (with heavy Pinoy accent) and 'M'am'. Maybe they somehow got their maids to look after their house and business at the same time.

And there's these Chinese construction companies that are based in Singapore. They couldn't speak a word of English and you have to explain everything in chinese so that can understand. With my lousy chinese, it's almost like a duck talking to a chicken.

But the worst has to be the bitchy phone operators. I mean if you don't wish to disclose any information regarding your employees, then say it in a nice way.

The pay is only at of this end of the month so don't expect me to give any treats.

Speaking of results, I did better than last semester's but it's still not enough to pull myself into the CGPA range that I wanted. Oh wells, another semester to improve it! =)

ZOMG!!! So Bright!!!

I don't know whether this is the trend or not, but a lot of places are installing lights that are wayyyyyy too bright. I almost bet that the amount of brightness in these shops are much more than a normal day outdoors.

I bet that the shop owners think that being brighter that other shops around, they can attract more customers with the blinding lights acting as some kind of beacon.
For me, such shops put me off and I usually try my best to avoid them.

I wonder how do the staff manage with these lights. Maybe the owner should supply them with sunglasses to protect them.
