Sick

There's this virus spreading around in NTU, people in MSE is falling sick after one and another. Guess what? I'm sick too, there goes my weekend.

Saw this picture on Jingjing's blog about her Nike Run.

Broad shoulders? Check. Tanned? Check. Not very tall? Check. He looks like pretty pissed off that he can't run due to the human traffic jam ahead.

Gloomy Days

Click picture for source

The weather's pretty gloomy these days, it's almost two weeks when I last saw the sun. Mornings are soooo much harder to climb out of bed because of the nice cool weather.

Saw the longest queue ever for 179 on Tuesday at about 10am. Maybe it's due to the rain and the lack of 179As after 9:30-ish, the queue stretched from one end of the bus stop to the other. Luckily I managed to cut the queue as I saw Adabelle (I hope I didn't spelt that wrongly) at a 'strategic position'.

I think conversation between Kahhui and Adabelle can be summed into two words: Mutual Suan'ing. Had a good laugh though. Saw a guy sitting beside Adabelle after we got off the bus, nothing strange right? But Adabelle is sitting in the direction facing the back of the bus and there's like so many seats that is unoccupied. Chee Hong...

Found out how did Shining and Wileen managed to maintain their impressive GPAs (I'm easily impressed when it comes to GPA, you just have to be higher than mine). Met them while waiting for the Biz Team meeting on Thursday. Finally understood what does it mean to mug and mugged they did. I think they will somehow memorise the whole textbook when the examination period starts. Somehow it made me feel guilty about my relative lack of effort in my studies.

Didn't know that Jingjing is the DJ for the NTU radio from 7 - 9pm on Thursday nights. Go support her if you're still in school during that time.

The Biz Team meeting went well until I spoke to my small group. I think I take some time to warm up to others and I really hope that they don't feel that I'm cold and unfriendly. Oh wells, at least I managed to end the meeting at 9pm and gave them really little things to do, so they should be (hopefully) grateful for that.

What's up with the 179 service after 8pm? I waited at the South Spine bus stop for about 30 minutes before I managed to board one. Maybe one should wait at the North Spine when it's late, 'cos two 179 passed me packed with commuters boarding at the North Spine. Met Kliff, Wanting and Sheena on the bus. Poor people who went for the FOC meeting and didn't went for supper after it because of the long trip they have to make to get home.

Kliff was like sharing with me the importance of (non-academic) FYP while still studying (Isn't he like attempting one right now?). And Sheena's trying to pull me in as a sai kang warrior again. More sai kang? Oh no...

Bad Reputation

When doing group projects, I guess there bound to be thoughts of whether can one work well together as a team.

What if that a certain someone carries a bad reputation? Maybe that person is known to talk a lot but when it comes to crunch time, he can't walk the talk. Or maybe she's known to be someone of questionable morals. Are you able to work with them if you had known of such thing?

Definitely, it will somehow affect me when it comes to dealing to them, but is it really fair to judge one's working ability when he/she has a bad reputation that isn't related to the work he/she does?

Anyone faced such a thing before? How did you manage it?

Joel treated lunch when we met up for a meeting to discuss about the whole Business Manager thingy. The boss and Valeria did most of the talking and I did most of the eating (haha). I guess it's because I'm totally new when it comes to this Business Manager thingy and I still trying to feel my way around, while Valerie seems to be a 'lao bird' at these kind of things.

The boss picked Sakae Sushi. Luckily, the place is crowded and I immediately suggested Ichiban Boshi at the Esplanade, which serves Japanese cuisine that's so much better than Sakae. I mean if the Donburis in restaurants taste almost the same as the one at Canteen A, the place really must be not up to standard. Anyway, it's a treat from the boss and it's up to him to decide where to have lunch.

Anyway when returning to the MRT station, there was like a human jam at Citylink Mall due to the millions of people going to Suntec City for COMEX (Click picture for source). I mean how will you have the mood to hunt for bargains when you're being squeezed from all directions. And if Citylink Mall was that bad, I can't imagine how bad the situation is at COMEX. Citylink Mall was so packed that they had opened one of the emergency exits that behind BreadTalk so that people can get out of the place and walk to Suntec City without using the underpasses of Citylink Mall.

Random Updates.

Thanks for the comments people, that post is pushed all the way to the depths of time (those with keen eyes should be able to spot it).

Looking back, it's really crazy what people will say when they get all emotional. But hey, I don't regret making those comments and I really feel so much better after writing them out.

By the way, anyone read/saw this magazine produced by the CAC called Art Jam? I've asked about five people and they said they had never heard of it, much less read it. Somehow the low readership makes negotiation for advertisements an issue that we forsee.

And that's what I'm facing as Vice-Chair of the CAC Business Team. It's the unofficial title though. Haha.

I hope that I won't let my boss down since he placed such confidence on me.

Passed my Basic Theory Test for driving.

I can't believe how ridiculously expensive each practical session is. A hour long session costs close to 60 bucks. No wonder they said that getting a driving license is getting more difficult now, you got to have the money to get one!

Then again it makes sense, if you don't have the money to sit for a license, most likely you can't afford to even buy a car.

Saw another version of 'Wonderwall'. And I think I prefer this version over the original version, it's feel of emotion. Yeah I know that I've talked about this song before, but I really love it, 'cos the lyrics is able to connect me emotionally.

'There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how'

Still seeking my Wonderwall.

UNmotivated

Kinda of strange writing this entry on a Sunday night when I still have tutorials to complete.

Tutorials are coming in fast and I can't seem to complete them on time. It doesn't help that some of the questions cannot be understood.

It all boils down to the issue of motivation. Danny will require some sort of stimulant to stun myself into the studying mode.

Let's hope that it isn't a quiz or a test.

Anyone with the same problem of missing mouse cursor while looking at certain blog skins with white background?

I thought it's only for an isolated blog, but I found another with the same problem.

Minefield

I won't go in depth but recently my house suddenly feels like a minefield, one wrong move and *boom*!

And it's all because of a basket of groceries.

I don't know why can't everyone sit down and talk, raising voices and flaring tempers doesn't solve anything - it makes matters worse.

I guess I'm doing my tutorials at the McDonald's near my house, it's not very safe here, at least for tonight.

Met up with Wenchuan before my Basic Theory Evaluation at Jurong Point. Exchanged our experiences in the different FOCs we're involved. Somehow he's sounded more fun, then again GLs always have the fun.

Passed my Basic Theory Evaluation which means that I'm primed for my Basic Theory Test on the 29th. The instructors are super 'cheena'. I asked one of them whether the evaluation will be a good gauge of the actual test he gave me a face that says "Eh boy, I dun understand u leh' before saying:

"Yes, you can only have 5 wrong."

My english that got that chim meh?
