The Marvel Fomula?

The second Marvel summmer blockbuster will be on the screens soon. The Incredible Hulk stars Edward Norton as the titular character.

Many couldn't avoid comparing the movie to the successful Iron Man movie that was out earlier this year. I can't either. And I noticed something similar to both movies.

Anyone who watched the Iron Man will know that the main villain, Iron Monger (okay, the name wasn't mentioned in the movie) aka Obadiah Stane, got the designs for his armour from the initial Iron Man designs and turned it into something bigger and badder.

Now in the Incredible Hulk, the baddie is the Abomination, who is, suprise suprise, a bigger and badder version of the Hulk.

So how do the Abomination came about? Not suprisingly, he did the same thing that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk. Seeing a formula here?

Anyway I feel that we should just skip the Incredible Hulk and save the money for the Dark Knight (the next Batman film) 'cos ticket prices aren't getting cheaper.

Lightning flashed across the sky, followed by the roar of thunder. Clouds resembling a black tablecloth engulfed the azure of the sky, parting the sky into sabre and azure.

A storm is fast approaching.

Daniel put on his coat and armed himself with an umbrella. He wondered whether the size of his umbrella will be sufficient, then he realised that it will barely keep anyone dry judging the size of the impending rain. The first few drops of rain begin to fall with his first step into the road.

Show Me the Money

My job is NOT fun. It makes me realise that most temp jobs involve mindless repetitions. Maybe its me, but I feel that talking about income tax is more fun than making calls to check whether the listed telephone number is correct.

Anyway noted some company names that are especially funny. There's this Triple H Construction Company. Maybe instead of those bangla workers, their workers all look like this:

(He's a wrestler that goes by the name of Triple H)

Work will be done at half the time, but it will cost more because of the steroids needed.

Another thing is that some companies actually hire Filipinos to man their phone lines and they address their owners as either 'Sir' (with heavy Pinoy accent) and 'M'am'. Maybe they somehow got their maids to look after their house and business at the same time.

And there's these Chinese construction companies that are based in Singapore. They couldn't speak a word of English and you have to explain everything in chinese so that can understand. With my lousy chinese, it's almost like a duck talking to a chicken.


But the worst has to be the bitchy phone operators. I mean if you don't wish to disclose any information regarding your employees, then say it in a nice way.

The pay is only at of this end of the month so don't expect me to give any treats.

Speaking of results, I did better than last semester's but it's still not enough to pull myself into the CGPA range that I wanted. Oh wells, another semester to improve it! =)

ZOMG!!! So Bright!!!

I don't know whether this is the trend or not, but a lot of places are installing lights that are wayyyyyy too bright. I almost bet that the amount of brightness in these shops are much more than a normal day outdoors.

I bet that the shop owners think that being brighter that other shops around, they can attract more customers with the blinding lights acting as some kind of beacon.
For me, such shops put me off and I usually try my best to avoid them.

I wonder how do the staff manage with these lights. Maybe the owner should supply them with sunglasses to protect them.

Go Straight to the Point!

I know that it's not really a desirable job but do you have to spin up a story just to 'sell' your job to people?


Went for a job interview this afternoon. In the beginning when asked about the job, the interviewer side stepped and mentioned the company as working on projects and such. Currently the company is doing some marketing project.

"So you have to carry a clipboard and walk around asking people to do a survey?"

"Yea, something like that."

Gosh. Just say that it's a survey job lah...

Today I've watched a full match of NBA and noticed one thing about American sports. The frakking amount of commercials are really irritating.

You know that there are timeouts for NBA and they are used most towards the end of the fourth quarter. This will then be the time where the commercials will play. Imagine watching 24 seconds worth of basketball, then commercials, repeat ad nauseum. It totally breaks the momentum of watching the match.

Imagine watching a movie in the cinema where the climax of the movie is shown in parts with commercials in between. It's really irritating...

Maybe that's why I prefer watching football (unAmerican) where there is only like one 15 minutes break in between halves.

For those who had been to my house (which isn't a lot!) knows that my house is facing a tennis court. I'll rather have a swimming pool, but let's not go there. Anyway, it's just another scorching hot day when my mum mentioned that there are two crazy person playing tennis in the afternoon.

I thought must be a bunch of people looking to get either sunburnt or a heatstroke, then I noticed that it's actually some (hot) girl training her tennis. I got to admit, her strokes are impressive, it's almost like watching tennis on my television (okay, I'm stretching the truth).

Over the week, I will always see her train under the hot sun. It's really commendable as everyone knows that its like soooooo hot these days. Guess if it's me, I'll definitely insist on training during the evenings or at night where it's so much cooler.

Now thats determination.
