Week 9: 1 - 5 Oct 07
Week 9 is here (or is it week 8?) and it sure looks like a crazy dash to the final exams.
First week after the recess, taking out the chalet trip in Sentosa, doesn't feel like a recess week at all.
Handed in the lab report on Monday, after two days of finding information, rephrasing them and typing into the report. I can say that doing a lab report are really a bad experience for me (and many others too). Interesting lab sesssion on monday though, its a drawing class. Throughly enjoyed that class as it requires not much brain power and more on drawing tons of lines.
On monday, Gawi had drove his car to school since his father isn't using it. So we had an option of dinner anywhere in the area and ended up in IMM. Most of the place is packed with kids and their parents due to Childrens' Day and we decided on Fish and Co for dinner. Found out that periperi is known to be 'a little salty' when queried the waitress. Took a risk and ordered a periperi fish which tasted rather good. Really had fun making fun of the waitress due to her 'a little salty' comment.
I thought that the Man Utd - Roma match was on thursday morning instead of the actual wednesday morning. I was really perplexed to the sightings of Man Utd jerseys on wednesday, only to find out that Man Utd had won the match 1-0 when having lunch. Yea, I'm pretty disappointed to had missed Rooney's first goal of the season and the preformance of Nani that vindicated his transfer fee.
I'm somehow irritated with the unproductive project meeting that I had on Thursday. I had done my portion of the required workload and brought my desktop replacement laptop (which is rather heavy) to school, only to found out that some of the group members had not finished their work. In the end, the supposedly planned work on the project was cancelled because not everyone had finished their work and had to finish their lab reports for friday.
I had actually took out 1 day of my lab report writing time to come back to school during the recess week to do the project and giving that excuse doesn't really sit well for me. Some of the group members who handed up their lab reports on monday (like me) also had the same feeling as well. If we can put aside sometime for the project, why couldn't some of the members?
Like what the group leader had said, this is OUR project, not an individual project. Surely, this had left a bad taste in my mouth.
Luckily I had a meet up with the army guys after that. Managed to catch up with the people who had moved to Pasir Laba camp on thursday night to celebrate Sam's (who's real name is Ben, long story) ORD. As most of them are poly students, they are actually working. Hope that its the first of many outings with them.
Seems like a relaxing weekend with a managable list of stuff to be done:
1. Study for the Motivation quiz on monday
2. Revise Physics for friday's re-examination
3. Finish up tuesday's tutorials
Anyway, is it me or is the weather getting warming? A few weeks ago, I can relax on the sofa without the fan on but now I'm sweating like a pig even with the fan on.
Japanese Workers in Wikipedia Row
Apparently, Japan's Agriculture Ministry has banned their staff from accessing Wikipedia as six were found to have edited Wikipedia entries during work. Interestingly, one of them is found to have made more than 260 entries to articles on Gundam.
One sentence to sum it all up: "The Agriculture Ministry is not in charge of Gundam," ministry official Tsutomu Shimomura.
That's all this week. Hopes that the following will be smooth sailing.
