FOC: Day 1/2

Got back from FOC. Somehow it didnt lived up to the hype. Being an SA is really boring. Either that my OG is boring or I'm boring.

Day 1

*Morale is easily shattered.
- just one wrong move during the first day and with encouragement from the GLs made the entire group depressed. I dont really know where the group went but judging from the pictures and points they got, I got a feeling that went to slack at one corner.

Somehow during Senior Camp, the RPG isnt that lousy at all. However, that was done with smaller groups and with people that knows each other other.

*I can really talk if I want to
- all the SAs are tasked as station masters and to pass time, there's only one thing to do - talk. And I managed to keep it going for like a couple of hours. Not bad for someone thats known as the 'fiercest senior during the camp'.

*yellow, peach and white on yellow is a bad idea.

- Im never an arts person but I know a bad colour combination when I see one. And our flag is one such example. Furthermore, I cant see the group's name on first glimpse. To think that our group has 3 ADM people in it.

Day 2

*killer slopes ahead
- i wonder if anyone drives a manual vehicle in the area. Its liken to that infamous slope on the Teck Whye test route sans traffic. Its like a nightmare when youre trying to do a three point turn while trying to prevent the engine from stalling.

*the right bus takes forever to come

- and the worst thing to come out of that? its full when it comes. Made us play the catch up game.

And we did managed to lead the second pack at the end of the day, coming back from being last in the entire race. Thats like the most satisfying feeling I had out of the entire camp.

why i hate facebook quizzes

I wonder why people still do the quizzes on facebook. I guess they're really bored? Almost 90% of the quizzes are really dumb.

I mean if you choose red as your favourite colour, swinging around on web, having a mask totally covering your face and loves cracking jokes while fighting enemies, it's obvious that you will be 'Spiderman' in a 'Which Marvel Comic Superhero are you' quiz. Even a 5 year old can see that coming.

The worst thing about it, those that took the quiz sounded so surprised when they saw the result.

And they're choking up my news feed, depriving me of news about my friends that really matters.

Take me out (again)

It seems like everyone's really busy these days.

It's either FOC...
or quizzes...

and if they're unlucky enough, it's reservist.
Which means a really bored Danny.

I guess I'm really passive when it comes to asking people out. Usually I adopt the 'if-you-ask-me-then-i'll-go-out' attitude which might explain why I'm always complaining when nobody asked me if they want me to join them.

Either that or they have the very intention NOT to ask me in the first place. And this is one occasion which I hoped that I'm wrong.

Take me out.

What's Danny Up to?

Sick for the past week. The whole idea of whether i got swine flu keeps running through my mind as the symptoms are the same.

Luckily it wasnt swine flu but the sore throat remains. Hope danzen pills isnt expensive.

And danny's not stressed at all. He's just reverting back to his actual size after years of gaining weight during NS and temp working.

Island creamery's still worth making the journey, even though its like smack in the middle of Bukit Timah.

Need to buff up in time for FOC though (haha).

So when you know youre old? When you go to a beach at sentosa for a a picnic. AChia even brought newspaper to read!Then again, you cant do much with just 4 (old) people with lots of food laying around.

How to impress your future in-laws? Rosa's sister's boyfriend treated 9 for dinner which could easily come close to $250. I'm sure he wasnt expecting THAT much people celebrating Rosa's birthday.

wired

Its a tuesday afternoon and the entire family, excluding my parents, are sitting in front of the computer.

I dont know whether it happens in other home, but I feel that we are somehow incapable of leaving our computers and internet connection behind. Just imagine what happens if the internet access is disconnected in my house. This inability to do something else without the internet is really frightening me.

My brother and sister are stuck on the computer almost 80% of the waking time and its sickening. I hardly see my sister except for like twice a day (during the hols) - when she comes out of her room to take her meals or use the washroom.

Not that im a saint when it comes to this issue but theyre really getting closer to be a slave to their computers. And im worried.

Send Danny a Postcard

Two blog posts in quick succession, that means Im terribly bored!


My mother made a comment on the way I look is somehow comparable to the number of days spent at home.


Clean shaven Danny means that I had went out at least once within 24 hours
Caveman Danny (with the entire facial hair set up) means that I had not been out of my house for the past 1 day.

Dont anyone find it troublesome to keep a clean shaven face? I do! But I have to do it because I look damn funny with facial hair and it ages me by at least 5 years. Many are saying that I'm already in my fourth year, I'm not THAT old alright?!


Everyone's going overseas for their summer hols, guess who's not?
That's why Im like asking anyone that i know to send me a postcard when theyre overseas.


The above is from Kahhui. From his almost unreadable handwritting, I can see that he's really having a ball over in Hokkaido. I wonder what does 'people here are fantastic' mean? hahahha.

Anyway he's back and Ive yet to see him. I heard he came to the PC Show and he didnt even visited me on the sixth floor. Now I have some reservations on whether to make that 'contribution' to FOC hahahhaa.

Yeah, I know my address's on the postcard. So send me one if youre reading this and having a blast overseas!

Please have a clearer display picture for your facebook account? Preferably one that shows your face so that I know who's adding me. Not that Im popular or anything but I dont normally add people that Im not familiar with.

Somehow people are just adding me to increase their friend count. Secondary school classmates that NEVER talked to me in my four years there are starting to add me. It's called 'friends' for a reason!!!

(The above doesnt apply if youre a pretty girl. Yes, I'm that pragmatic!)

Days of Living Hell

Saw shining's title and decided to used the same.

I used to think that sales should be a relatively easy job but after 4 days of the PC Show. I got to change my tune and tell myself NEVER to do something like this again.

Standing from from 12-9 sure makes one cranky at the end of the day. I think that I have stronger calf muscles from all that standing.

The best thing about it? 30 dollars goes to FOC since its a canvassing drive. On the bright side, I managed to pocket 20 dollars per day.

Anyone tried this CP shrimp wonton? It's absolutely awesome! I just had one box the other day and I can say that it taste better than some of the wonton I get in the coffee shop near my house. I mean where can you get one whole prawn in a wonton these days. Though its a tad expensive, I feel its worth every single cent.
