Tuesday with George
Met up with George in town because I have tons of time and was terribly bored. George is my closest friend in while serving my National Service, which means I see him day in and day out for two years (excluding weekends and public holidays). Furthermore, we also temp'd together at IRAS manning the hotlines. Luckily he's in EEE or else I'm going to see him for another four years (ok, I'm just joking over here)!
One of the things we usually do after knocking off from work (in IRAS) is to head to this Spinelli coffee joint at Novena Square to have a cuppa. Which is what we did after looking for this jacket for his friend's birthday. Of all the major coffee joints in Singapore, Spinelli best suits my taste, although the deco could be improved to make the place more cosy. If the barista seems to be in the mood, you will get some really nice latte art (unlike the one above).
The thing is that he hardly spends time in coffee joint alone as he mentioned that having a latte alone doesn't seem enjoyable. Furthermore, if he wants a caffeine boost, he will just have a kopi at any random coffeeshops. I agree with him fully, as things are meant to be enjoyed with great company. Its the same logic as alcohol, the atmosphere is absolutely when in company of different group (the number of ladies presented is the factor, I guess).
Talking to George brings me back to the times where things we do doesn't have that huge an effect in the immediate future. If you did something wrong in the army, you will at most get reprimanded by superior and signing extras. Now things seems more in my own hands, one wrong move could meant repeating certain subjects for the next semester.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
